JXL Viewer

Most browsers cannot open JPEG XL. Shrinkary decodes .jxl files locally so you can view them, zoom in, check 1:1 pixels and resolution. No upload, no plugin.

How it works

  1. 1. Choose images

Drag and drop images onto the page, or click to select files from your device.

  2. 2. Processed locally

Images are decoded and displayed in your browser — never uploaded to a server.

  3. 3. Inspect the details

Zoom in to check details, and see dimensions, file size and EXIF data.

About the JPEG XL format

JPEG XL (.jxl) is an image format standardized as ISO/IEC 18181. It offers efficient lossy and lossless compression, and can losslessly repack existing JPG files to make them about 20% smaller, with the original JPG fully recoverable.

Browser and operating system support for JPEG XL is still limited, so .jxl files often cannot be opened directly. Shrinkary includes a JXL decoder that runs in your browser, so you can view these files without plugins or extra software.
