Why convert JPEG XL to JPG
JPEG XL offers excellent compression, but many browsers, operating systems, and apps still cannot open .jxl files. Converting to JPG produces a photo that can be viewed, shared, edited, and printed anywhere.
The JPG will usually be larger than the JXL source and uses lossy compression, so keep the quality around 80 or higher if you plan to edit or print the photo. JPG does not support transparency; if your JXL image has transparent areas, convert it to PNG instead.
