Compress PNG
Shrink PNG images in your browser with Shrinkary: lossless optimization cuts file size and keeps transparency intact. Batch support, no upload, free forever.
PNG output stays lossless at quality 100; lower values make PNG files smaller with slight quality loss.
How it works
1. Choose images
Drag and drop images onto the page, or click to select files from your device.
2. Processed locally
Compression runs entirely in your browser — images are never uploaded to a server.
3. Download the result
Download each file as soon as it's ready, or grab everything at once as a ZIP.
How PNG compression works
PNG is a lossless format, so the same pixels can be stored in files of very different sizes. At 100 quality, Shrinkary re-encodes the image losslessly and optimizes it with oxipng: every pixel stays identical, and only redundant data in the file is removed.
Below 100, the image is color-quantized: the full range of colors is reduced to a palette of at most 256 colors, which often makes the file 50-80% smaller. This works very well for screenshots, icons, logos, and illustrations with flat colors, and transparency is kept. Photos with smooth gradients can show banding after quantization, so for photographic content consider converting to JPG or WebP instead.
